The Fantasien, Op. 116 are divided among three pianists: Mikhail Rudy plays Nos. 1, 3, 4, and 7; İdil Biret plays Nos. 2 and 5; and Chitose Okashiro plays No. 6. In 3 Intermezzi, Op. 117, François-René Duchâble plays the first Intermezzo, while Mikhail Rudy plays the second and third. In 6 Klavierstücke, Op. 118, Rudy plays the first two pieces, while the remaining four are divided between Dezső Ránki and Lilya Zilberstein. Op. 118 also appears on Brahms Volume 2, but there the first two pieces are instead played by Ránki. In 4 Klavierstücke, Op. 119, Rudy plays the first two pieces and Ránki the last two. The Rhapsody, Op. 119 No. 4 had already appeared on Brahms Volume 1 in the same Ránki performance. Tempo manipulation has been applied to nine tracks.
